WELCOME TO SILVER STETSONS

We are a group of teachers that have come together to try and spread the fun and enjoyment we have all had from linedancing. We have all been dancing for between twelve and two years and are all either partly or fully qualified linedance instructors. We all try and help each other, providing holiday cover etc, and of course, deciding what to teach.

We have various helpers at classes and events and everyone knows that they are more than happy to help anyone who may be struggling, have any questions.

The club started at retirement residences about 11 years ago and as time went on other teachers joined us and started classes in Bedford and other areas. We have seen teachers come and go and also some classes, but the end result still remains the same. We have fun, laughter and a great social life.

There are various events hosted by Silver Stetsons, mostly at Wellingborough, including the top acts from around the country and one or two special events that boast barbecues or fish & chip nights.

We actively encourage all ages and levels of dancers, and try to achieve a happy medium of music, the term now being Mainline! What this means is that we teach quite a lot of country, and a quite a bit of everything else, normally acheiving a result that enables the dancers to go to other places and dance, and not feel left out. We have also found that if we teach mostly the same dances then we keep everyone happy when they come to the events we run. Also we use as a guide what is being done locally, what is popular on the floors and sometimes what is taught by other instructors at weekends that dancers go to, up and down the country. At any one time, within Silver Stetsons we are teaching 95% of the Up Country Top Ten and normally about 70% of the Linedancer charts, thereby, we feel striking a happy medium between country and pop, and it seems to be keeping everyone happy!!!

We also teach a very laid back partner class.
